Welcome to our Year 3 class page
Here you will find all the information you need about our school day.
Some important things to start us off this Year...
- Our PE day is Monday. Pupils are to come into school on Monday in their PE kits (plain black joggers or shorts, and a plain white T-shirt please).
- All earrings need taking out or covering for the PE lesson.
- Reading books and diaries need to be in school each day..
- Spellings will be handed out every Friday and then tested on the following Friday.
- Homework will be given out every Friday and will be due back by the following Wednesday.
Don’t forget, should you have any questions about anything to do with your child’s education, you can speak to myself on the door at the start and the end of each day or via the Class Dojo messenger.
Homework
Homework this year will be set to reinforce the learning that is being completed at school, and will be greatly beneficial for your child to complete at home.
Each week, children will bring home a weekly spelling list given out on Fridays, to then complete a spelling test the following Friday. Daily practice would be much appreciated if this can be completed.
A big focus this year will be on Time Tables practise. To help the development of their understanding at home, children should be encouraged to make use of the online programme “Times Table Rockstars”. Their passwords and usernames can be found in the back of their reading diaries. With this programme, children can earn coins and rewards to improve their avatar which will be displayed in the classroom.
Finally, children will be sent home with a piece of Maths and English homework relating to the topic taught in the week which will be given out on Fridays to complete over the weekend. This will then need to be handed in the following week.
